Swansea Round Table in association with Oyster Cabs Mumbles, are happy to announce that there is now a 24/7 accessible defibrillator in the centre of Mumbles.
Today Friday 18th October 2019, Swansea RT Chairman Jonathan Jones and other members of the round table together with local traders met at Oyster cabs to view a demonstration of the defib and the housing. Mr Dean Roderick, Director of Oyster Cabs in mumbles was happy to be associated with a mobile Life Saving Defibrillator which will be located in Oyster Cabs office on Mumbles Road.
“Having placed a number of units in recent months and establishing it as an ideal location for a defibrillator due to its central location and availability for the likes of local community, the location was a key factor for Swansea Round table to work with Oyster Cabs” explained Jonathan.
Dean Roderick, Director of Oyster Cabs – having been a prominent business for many years and serving the community we were delighted to work with Swansea Round Table on making this project happen. The defibrillator will also be listed with welsh ambulance service so that call handlers can pass the location to 999 callers if they are within proximity, Oyster Cabs is committed to supporting community initiatives.
Jonathan Jones, Chairman of Swansea Round Table said following their recent training, “Early use of a defibrillator is a critical component in treating cardiac arrest. The Zoll line of defibrillators feature a uniform operating system, so the need for training is minimised and ease of use is maximised”.
Swansea Round Table and Oyster Cabs will continue to support the local community within Swansea.
