The 12th of April saw Swansea RT Chairman Ricky Purdy present Mrs Rhian James Collins (Head Teacher), a number of staff and some of the Ysgol Gymraeg Bryn Y Mor school, Healthy Living group pupils, with a mobile Life Saving Defibrillator.
“Connecting with the school in recent months and establishing it as an ideal location for a defibrillator due to its central location and availability for the likes of local community centres, was a key factor for Swansea Round table to select Ysgol Gymraeg Bryn Y Mor”. Said Ricky. Adding, “presenting this to the staff and some pupils at the school was a great moment and one that was a enjoyed by myself and Jonathan on behalf of all at Swansea Round Table”.
In addition to supplying the defibrillator, Swansea Round Table is also set to organise training for the school via St John Cymru Wales, and the West Glamorgan trainers, so that not just teachers at the school but a number of the pupils parents get a full understanding of this valuable lifesaving equipment. Jonathan Jones, Vice Chairman of Swansea Round Table said following their recent training, “Early use of a defibrillator is a critical component in treating cardiac arrest. The Zoll line of defibrillators feature a uniform operating system, so the need for training is minimised and ease of use is maximised”.
Swansea Round Table will continue to support the local community within Swansea, and will be supplying further defibrillators to additional locations during May. Further information on these placements will be announced shortly.
