On a glorious sunny day I was invited to join an Area 43 event with Narbeth and Whitland Round Table for a firewalk over hot coals. For someone who gets carpet burns when he walks without slippers on, this was truely a very dangerous/stupid thing to volunteer for.

I wasn’t reassured by the ‘safety talk’ one hour beforehand and the disclaimer form did little to ease my nerves. Fortunately the guys from Firewalk UK were fantastic motivators and made it possible to brave the 550 Celsius hot coals. 30 people braved the 12 yard walk, in total raising over £4000 for a local cancer charity.

I was so pleased to have done this event- something that I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do with out Round Table- now anyone for lion taming?
